Computational Design
Independent practice / creative directionlabParametric and computational methods used to explore, test and develop architectural, spatial and object-scale design.
Computational design is used as a way to think more precisely, not as an aesthetic default. Parametric models, simulations, rule sets and iterative studies can test proportion, pattern, environmental behaviour, variation and constructability across architectural, spatial and object-scale work.
The method is most useful when a project has many related conditions: a family of parts, a responsive surface, a complex geometry or a brief where options need to be explored without losing authorship.
